Yankee Stadium tour

For those of you who have never been to the Stadium, and even for those of you who have, the Tour of the Stadium was pretty darn cool. Monument Park, walking along the warning track, into the dugout, into the locker room (no pix allowed!), then up to the press box. The kids had a great time and so did I. Thankfully the storm held off long enough for us to get the full tour.

Here are some of the pictures (you can click on any of them to see a larger version):

One last trip through before they tear it down? It seems like a really cool place, and I'm sorry it will be gone before I get to go.

The House That Oscar Gamble Built? My apologies if the tears don't flow, but Wrigley and Fenway qualify as shrines, not this ugly incarnation, est. 1976. If the place were really so holy, Yankee fans would have marched on City Hall and demanded that Mayor Bloomberg "yank" the funds for the new colossus that's being built across the street....

I think after all those years we'd all look bad.
