From Keith Law, via ESPN, his rankings of MLB teams' farm systems. Yanks are middle of the pack, #15, with good reason:15. New York Yankees: For the first time in several years, the Yankees' system is light on impact talent, with major question marks on each of the top four prospects. The 2008 draft class doesn't offer much hope -- the Yankees' first pick reversed course on them midsummer and decided to go to college; their third pick had a medical issue and didn't agree to terms; and the resulting crop of players doesn't offer much upside.
At least they gave up their first, second and third rounders next year as compensation for Teix, CC and Burnett. If you can't grow it, buy it.

Braves are #3! Then again, that doesn't help much for say ... next year.
I meant #4. That's still better than the Yanks!
Brag about your seeds, I'll enjoy the salad.
Well said, sir.
There was a great comment from a Pinstripe loyalist in Keith Law's chat that Thursday. He asked how the Yanks farm system could be ranked so low, when their affilitates in Annaheim and Milwaukee had just produced Texeira and Sabathia. I'm a BoSox man myself, but even I had to laugh.
Anon, that's awesome. And it's true. Right now, the Yanks are backburnering their farm system. There's NO ROOM for any prospect to break thru, other than C, maybe, depending on Posada's health.
No 1B, 3B prospect will break thru for EIGHT years. EIGHT!
