Screw sentimentality

First, Smoltz leaves his cozy Atlanta home for Boston after 20 years of incredible service. Then all-time saves leader and 9th inning Hells Bells fixture Trevor Hoffman is leaving the gorgeous SoCal area for the greener confines of Milwaukee. What a momentous day in baseball history with two HOF'ers changing uniforms after incredible careers spent in one uniform (after the minor league trades that landed them in their locales).

And Angry Andy's feelings are hurt.

Clearly, sentimentality is just sooooo 2007. 2009 is shaping up to be quite cold and heartless. Wonderful.

I blame this on Scott Boras. I don't care if it's really his fault or not. He is the devil incarnate, and its his fault.

The world as we know it has ended. The next thing you know the Yankees will be spending $400,000 on players who don't deserve it.

I go away to Winchester to visit some friends for day or two and all hell breaks loose. More on this later after my head stops spinning ...
