In case you were wondering about how the teams help the players prepare for the season, particularly the younger guys... From Yanks Eric Hacker, via email:"They give us a schedule for the whole off season. It has day to day showing everything that we need to do. Now it is split up between pitchers and position players. There is also different agility stuff depending on if you are a pitcher, infield, outfield, or a catcher. It is up to the player to find a place to work out. I know some guys have personal trainers, work out in groups and some work out by themselves. Everybody has there own thing they like to do. Also our throwing programs are different for pitchers and position player."
I hope they treat it more seriously than I handled my "suggested summer reading list".
