Minor leaguer Lastings Milledge is on the printed All Star ballot. No, really. Evidently there's a movement to get him elected to the game, a la the Rory Fitzpatrick effort in the NHL a few years back:
Now some Red Sox fans are hoping to get him elected to the game. Quoth the poster:Now, the spelling errors are funny but getting Milledge elected would be funnier. Imagine Selig's head exploding when Manny, ARod and Milledge are all named to the starting lineup?"As good citizens of NatsTown, I think we need to get as many Natinals [not-sic] on the All-Star team as possible.
"Specifically, Lastings Milledge is on the NL All-Star ballot. He needs to make the team. Nothing would be more NatsTown than having the Natinals' [not-sic] (lone?) All-Star game representative be a AAA player for whom the organization has no plan."
Other funny stuff, from the same article above:
Some Nats fans, of course, are upset at the idea. Many of these same fans are the ones who can't figure out why ESPN tends to gloss over the games of this crapbag team.Expecting Not's fan and season ticket holder Carl's comments in 3... 2... 1...
But, really, what could be more appropriate? For a franchise that does basically everything wrong, it'd be absolutely perfect.
Love them 'Nots!

This could create a problem: Milledge broke his finger in Triple-A Syracuse today.
He better rest up. He has a very important Exhibition in July to attend.
You sent for me?
This would be pretty funny, actually, and somehow appropriate. For once, though, I think the Nats have actual, legitimate potential all-star reps in Zimmerman and Dunn.
