The making of a Mets hater

From reader, Alex K, via the comments area, a truly priceless description on the NY fan situation:

I'm a transplant to NY so the Yanks and Mets are almost part of my daily life. I've found that both teams have their stereotypical fans, but my goodness Mets fans annoy the crap out of me. So that is why I am no longer a Yankee hater, because of Mets fans.
When you are able to convert someone from being a Yankee hater, that's an accomplishment, Mets fans.

Wow, never in my wildest dreams did I think anything I said would be worthy of it's own post. I'm honored Jason.

Don't worry, Alex. We set a very low bar here. C'mon in, saddle up and be in the presence of incredible mediocraty.

Mediocraty is my specialty as well.

I'm a Mets fan and I hate them too. I can't stand the stereotypical Mets fans who boo every time a player goes through a slump. Booing is okay in certain situations, but to boo guys Carlos Beltran and Carlos Delgado is maddening.

On top of that, it kills me to go on the Mets.com message boards after games. On a given night, if we win everyone says were going to the World Series, if we lose everyone wants to trade Wright and Reyes. Its unbelievable. I love my Mets, but I can't stand my fellow fans
